am bemused by all the suing and counter suing between Samsung & Apple..

seriously speaking, how many items nowadays are truly original??
i will dare say most stuff today are improvement of earlier inventions
& if one like to argue about design, it's even more difficult to draw the line..
cuz in the first place, it may not be you that thought of it first!!

illustrates once again a good intention that has turn 'bad'
& it also kinda show some companies mindset to be narrow minded/anti competitive and does not help the company image at all..
remember ppl tend to support the underdog/weaker party..
furthermore 真金不怕火烈
if your pdt is so good, why be afraid of competition in the first place?
why not hold a open 'competition' and see which pdts win more consumers' heart??

this week's current affairs is good teaching material for econs lesson..
3 in all.. haha

the other news tt can be linked to econs is Denmark set a first by implementing a saturated fats tax..
so right now countries are starting to take action against another social ill which is obesity..
but is saturated fats the main cause of obesity?
i believe there are other causes as well eg preference for fried food..
anything that is healthy can be unhealthy/fattening by simply frying it..
& i also wonder will tax be an effective way??
kinda remember one sentence watched in a drama: anything that can solved by money is not a problem

lastly the sg ministry of transport is thinking of cutting the car growth rate to be as much as half for next year..
i totally applaud the move as what i personally experience right now is most expressways are rather packed during non peak hours eg weekend afternoon! *duh*
if not before long, sg expressway will become a giant open air carpark...
however i also do agree that at times its not about the total num of cars sg has, the trick is how to encourage less usage of the cars or at the very least get ppl to drive their cars at different times of the day..
it may be a good time to think out of the box to come out with creative solutions and not using money (aka ERP) again..
