first a 33% pay rise, then followed by another 66% pay rise..
first time heard of such a good deal leh.. lolz..
i guess this is in response to the Foxconn dun-seem-to-be-ending sucide cases ba..

but how far will e pay increment helps to increase the happiness of the workers??

beyond a certain point, monetary rewards is not going to be e solution le as humans hav different types of needs which quite a num of them cant be fulfilled jus by having more money..

& due to my uni major, i cant help but thinking will this leads to exportation of inflation to e rest of e world??

china gains its reputation as the world's factory due to its cheap labour cost..
but with one major co in shenzhen upping e pay, e other co will be pressuried to follow suit in order to retain their respective talents..
this will inevitably increase the cost of production..

will china nw then lose e edge of cheap labour??
guess it depends on e % of labour cost to total production cost n how e co can increase e workers' productivity ba..
maybe it can also 'force' china to move up the value chain of manufacturing??
then does it implies more competition faced by other asia pac countries eg msia, spore??

interesting to see how e impact unfold..
