some ppl just hav too much time on their hands..
read a newspaper report abt how Pres Obama killed a fly with one smack and alr thought tt its amusing tt reporters actualli publish it..
but at e same time also admire Obama's skills cos for one, i definitely cant do it..
& i din realise this is onli e preclude..
then jus now i read tt an org called PETA is protesting the act saying that animals have feelings too =.="""
do they realli care for the dead fly or is it a just-for-publicity act?
seriously if one cant even kill a pest, then wat are we supposed to say about eating meat? arent we killing the animals to get their meat too?!
another one is the MRT carriage..
Beijing is now trying to set up a female only carriage in their trains and resulted in some loud protest from the expected males..
guess e males are used to being treated preferentially tts why they unhappy ba.. simply plain MCP.. lolz..
& right now i heard one Jap railway co is planning to introduce a male-only carriage that makes me go a big 'WAT?'
is there realli a need?
if basing on e ground of equality, i tend to think tt it may be stretching things too far cos equality isnt meant to be this way..
& then back in spore, e train operators die die also dun wan to set up a female only carriage..
realli dunno wat ppl are thinking man..
away from current affairs & move on to everyday matters..
hav u ever experience before u still have e mindset of a student even though u r currently working?
in e sense tt when u r shopping, ur shopping habit is still pretty much similar to the days when u r still a student?
im at times guilty of tt..
in the sense tt when i was out shopping these days due to GSS, when i saw sth i will habitually look at e price tag n for quite a few occasions auto start thinking like a student eg 'wa, $20 quite ex leh' without realising tt u r alr working n u prob earn tt $20 by working ard 1.5 hr n tt e $20 prob onli cover ur 1 day food + transport expense..
somehow u tend to gauge everything by price, jus like when u r a student..
but during tt time, its understandable cos u r still depending on parents for allowance/earning merely enough from tuition to cover ur day to day expenses.. so u tend to go for things tt are cheap without much regard on quality..
but why were u thinking e same way even though u r working now?
for me, perhaps im pampered by the cheap online taiwan clothes n im also not e one tt will spend more than $50 on a top (think e max for me now is $40) cos i feel tt e lifespan of clothes can be relatively quite short due to fashion.
but for others like bags, shoes, watches etc i now start to appreciate value buying..
although im still sensitive to price n will onli look at certain brands onli when there is a sale, i wont mind spending more to pamper myself n enjoy e better quality..
eg Nine West pumps is about $85 during a 50% sale.. quite ex but cos its so comfy n chio looking i realli wont mind buying it if not for the height of e heel (its easily 10cm or higher)
however one big prob of me: i tend to hesitate quite a lot before i buy, jus ask anyone who has shopped with me before.. lolz..
n when i thought im bad enough in terms of still sticking to e price-preceeds-everything student's mindset every now n then, i realise some of my frens seems more extreme than me..
eg 1: would rather buy a $10 bag and carry to work instead of a $40 handbag cos why pay so much more when it doesnt make much of a diff?
eg 2: think that $30 for a reputable-brand watch is ex
which realli makes me go 'huh?'
for $30-$40, during normal times u at most can jus get a normal top with avg quality onli lor.. now even This Fashion clothes is ard tt price range..
& now u r paying e same price for better brand and quality n u think its ex/not worth it?
maybe they never own/tried branded goods before to feel/see for themselves the vast difference in appearance/feel/quality.
i used to avoid branded shops too but since window shopping & trying out in store is free plus the curiosity to know e pdt's price range and wat e rich buy makes me pop into them once in a while and realise u get wat u pay for stands absolutely true..
perhaps they also din realise tt spending a bit more on quality can brings u a long way in e climbing of corporate ladder..
not promoting ppl to be spendthrift here and also respecting diff ppl's perception on money and way of spending money..
but merely to remind ppl to see things in perspective..
if u r currently a working adult with financial power, high time to go for better pdts n e qn asked when shopping ought to be 'is this item worth e price?' and not just 'wat's e price ah?'
then coming to me, i hav 3 person commenting to me this week that i dun look my age..
1 thought i not yet 21, 1 thought im still an undergrad, n last one thought i jus finish my poly studies.. *diaoz*
do i hav a baby face tts why ppl tend to think im jus 20/21 when im alr 24?
or is it due to e way i speak/behave?
but if e earlier situation, i do hope tt this situation can carry on cos i certainly dun mind when ppl think im jus 25/26 when im 30.. haha
