first time i reach a place before 8am (except sch) n its alr damn crowded over there.. e queue is snaking not once, but twice round the area.. fainted.. yes, im at e spore flyer trying my luck to get my hands on e free tix. but then all my efforts of waking up at 6.15am which implies tt i onli sleep for like 3 hrs e prev night has all gone in vain.. so ended up going to queue for e bumboat tix.. then while queueing there, one of e auntie who also in e queue was saying tt she reached e flyer at 6am and there's ard 400 ppl there le.. wah seh.. sporeans are realli damn kiasu until when e first bus/mrt barely started their service, they are alr faithfully at e queue.. OMG.. think next week if i want to get e tix i must stay overnight le..
anyway one comment for e STB.. if e objective is to encourage sporeans to go out as a family then also spend to help e economy then can they be more generous n also include more places of attraction? at first i thought its 2009 tix for sat and another 2009 tix for sun. then upon reading e newspaper onli did i realise its 2009 tix for both sat n sun.. *ah the* leh.. n how come the zoo is not among e free place? national musemum and sentosa are realli bad choices to be included in leh.. cos in e 1st place, e admission tix to both places are so cheap..
anyway luckily got e tix for e boat n then end up touring city hall area while waiting for my mum n sis to off work.. so i walked from the flyer to merlion park to esplanade to marina sq to suntec to bugis junction then to national lib.. all within 2.5 hrs.. reason why i can cover these areas so fast is cos i din realli shop ard.. alr know these places too well le cos have been shopping there regularly for e past 2 yrs since they are so near my office.. if u give me orchard road, i'm able to shop for a longer period of time la, but seriously think tt spore lacks unique shopping experience cos e tenants of e shops are rather similar.. its like once u cover 3 shopping centres, u've alr seen approx 70% of e big name shops ava in spore..
walked even more when my mum n sis reach town. went back to esplanade and merlion park n took e boat ride. 1st time taking a ride on spore river n i must say tt e view u get while on water is vastly different from wat u see on land.. there are certain angles tt u can onli view on water, for example, the front face of e merlion. we managed to sit at e open air area of e boat so we can get to enjoy e 'river breeze' n our angle of view is also much wider. quite a good experience =)
then when i was telling my fren abt it, she said she'll rather take e boat ride than to go to the flyer. cos she say e area near spore flyer are all construction sites n hence nothing to see. all e rest of e buildings eg merlion n esplanade are quite far away so its actualli not worth e time n money to go up there. this i hav to agree cos i took e ferris wheel in japan for onli S$10 n e duration is also approx 30min. when u have such deals to compare against, e spore flyer seems to be overcharging..
at e end of e day, my legs were arching.. to think tt im actualli wearing sneakers!! gone were e days when i can stand for 10 hours straight.. haiz.. getting not fit le..
anyway PTC finally announce e extent of e fare reduction but its onli a mere miserable 2 cents. i was half expecting it to be 4 cents to offset e hike of 4 cents last yr leh.. its way too little la.. like wat my mum say, might as well dun cut fares.. make it sound so nice but e actual gesture is like so insincere.. i realli dun feel that e companies are willing to tide over e tough times w e consumers leh.. esp when they are benefitting quite a lot from e rapidly falling oil prices/electrical tariffs.. shd hav learnt never to expect too much from GLC..
& my wish abt going back to Tioman is abt to get granted.. AB going to Tioman this time round!! oh how i miss Tioman!!! who likes to go?? now jioing ppl to go w me.. =D
