it's e time of e yr when parents are complaining about the level of diffculty of PSLE Maths paper again.. strange, seems like without fail every yr there are cries from parents with regard to Maths paper and not other subject.. why ar?
anyway i din see any of e past PSLE papers so im in no position to comment but im quite disturbed by the parents' behaviour. is this a classic example of singaporean parents too pampering their kids?? right now they are complaining about difficult papers, then wat will they complain next?
& if they are so heart pain tt their children are shattered after e papers, then pls dun send ur kids to JC, esp e top 5 JCs k? cos down there, quite a significant num of ppl is fail their subjects all e way till prelim then pass with flying colours during A level one..
then if tough Maths paper is their No 1 concern, then pls dun go to my JC cos it is famed for its even-teachers-at-times-also-dunno-how-to-solve Maths paper..
actually, why cant parents see things from another angle?
instead of saying its bad, why dont they think of it as a training ground to prepare their children for e future?
cos life is never a bed of roses!!!
there is bound to be ups and downs as we live on..
so can use this as an opportunity to educate e kids that this is reality of life/ a way of life, there is bound to have a little setback somewhere..
but wat matters most is that u learnt something from it, eg in this case: there is no end to knowledge, so dun think that you know-it-all, must be humble and continue learning.. and also this is not the end of the world, must learn to take it in ur stride and move on! =)
there is two sides to everything. it all depends on how you choose to look at it.
i hope e relevant students and parents recognise this and dun lose sleep over this issue..
PSLE is marked on a normal curve, so its relative instead of absolute. things will get 'normalised' one..
