Review:

When I first heard of this series, it din interest me cos my perception of it is somehow along the line of "My Sassy Girl" cos of the title..
However, the curiousity got the better of me when i heard of its popularity and how funny it is..

For the plot, i will say tt it is actually bland with not much ups and downs that renders one breathless and guessing.. it is just a normal and simple plot, with too much drama towards the end.. personally feel that it will be better if the intensity of plot can be more evenly spread out.. Furthermore, at times i find e plot rather silly/ unbelivable/ a tad annoying... eg why the mother in law keep harping on the fact that her daughter-in-law's family is theives and bent on chasing them out? and since when e emporor is so free to intervene with the relative's family affair??

IMO, it is the actors/actresses that save the series..
Myolie, Bosco and Liza did a great job!!

I dare say that this is one of myolie's best drama.. she protray the character well.. i especially loved the pickering scenes with her mother-in-law.. she is natural and she knows when to act in a exaggerated manner and when to be serious..

As for Bosco, i dun realli like him prior to this drama.. perfer raymond lam and sammul chan instead.. perhaps cos he's not tt eye catching in previous dramas ba.. This drama convert me to a fan of Bosco.. =D not onli is he good looking in this drama, he also knows how to act.
Mau Chun & But Lau Ming are characters with different personality but he delivers..
Loved the scenes when he is having an inner conflict and how he tries to be a flirty But Lau Ming..
And of course, the chemistry between Bosco and Myolie is great! they are veri compatible!!

In conclusion, it is a light hearted comedy that provides good entertainment.

尘埃落定

result is finally out..
nothing to shout about.. super average grades..
though looking on the bright side, it is not as heartbreaking as last sem..
but overall still quite sianz..
paid a rather heavy price for overestimating the conjunctive events (tt i will survive e gruelling exams and still do well) and underestimating the probability of disjunctive events (tt im a human and things can get screwed up which will affect later performance)
oh no.. behavioural theorist.. lol..
well, dun wish to dwell too much on the past..
we nid to be forward looking!
lesson learnt and i'll bear in mind this episode when selecting mod for next sem..

but have been in self-denial mode cos im crossing my fingers hoping tt its not e final grades..
me n my frens hav lower our expectations such tt we dun mind e CAP so long as we can remind at 2nd upper on graduation.. haiz..
tts how bad things get when u got a first real taste of the dog-eat-dog world.. when u suddenly find urself ranking among e bottom of e cohort even though ur grades are considered above average or good.. but at least its better than when i was in JC.. *look on e bright side, ya?*
wonder who will pull an all nighter tonight due to anxiety.. =D

Weekend Special: HK Actor - Raymond Lam

Im sure those who watch HK drama will be familar with Raymond.. he is one of the hottest actors in TVB right now.. Actually Raymond is not the typical good looking guy but somehow he has the charisma that makes gals go weak on their knees.. heh
However, IMO, i think he is better looking in period costume.. somehow he looks cuter and his emotional eyes is suffice to dian diao many fans.. =D

gathering week!!

its has been raining cats n dogs during e early week until i got so lethargic and worried about my gatherings.. luckily on wed it was all sunny.. =)
went to the airport with my fellow interns.. yes, you heard me right, its airport.. funny that we are all onz about it even though none of us live in the east.. =D

it has been yrs since i go there and i must say e airport has changed a lot.. there are more food outlets and retail stores without making the airport feel commercialised..
anyway i love the chicken by Popeye!! When QD mentioned this food outlet i was like 'huh?' But after tasting it, YL is so gian about it tt she claim she dun mind travelling all the way from holland to airport jus to eat the Popeye chicken!! the power of food.. haha

but one sad thing is that i cant catch the planes in action now.. the once spacious viewing gallery of terminal 2 is obstructed by a 'veil' due to e expansion of the departure lounge.. *sad*
perhaps e new terminal 3 can cater to the planes fans? *wink*

then thurs is the econs hons gathering..
has this nagging feeling tt i will exceed my sms quota bcos of this gathering.. who can i blame though since im e PR of this gathering.. realise ive assume the role of PR for most gatherings leh.. why ar? can someone else take over this role? lol..
glad that e attendane is quite good!
aiming for a bigger turnout next time though it'll be tough since its close to impossible to find a time slot where 50% of the cohort is free, wat more of higher %?

realli enjoyed myself during e gathering..
the food is good and the games are real fun.
JN & ET did a fab job as programmers!! was laughing hard at e Santa Claus game and the forfeit.. haha
on e down side we wasted quite a fair bit of food and its a pity tt the gathering has to end before 11..
nevertheless hope the others enjoy it as much as me..
thanks to all those who attend e gathering..
its all bcos of u guys n gals that add so much colour to this heart-warming gathering.. =)

then today went to KTV again..
will never get enuff of KTV.. =P
this time round, ET & I training KC to know most of the duets..
and we sure got a lot of songs to sing.. when e time is up, we still had pages of songs unsung.. even though it onli less than 2 wks since we last went KTV..

should be staying at home these few days liao since im pretty broke..
but i want my post-christmas shopping..

Review:

Personally i think it is a copycat of another drama "Full House"..

1. "Contract marriage" brings the male and female lead together.
2. The girl likes the boy but the boy likes another girl whom he secretly admires for years
3. The female lead has a pair of good frens (1 guy & 1 gal who are a couple)
4. The male lead has a fierce father
5. There is a fair bit of quarreling scenes
6. They were seperated for a few years

When i was listing them down, im actualli quite surprised by their uncanny similarities. So u can imagine tt im slightly bored by the turnout of the events.. and since i've watched Full House before and din realli like it, it is about the same situation here..

But i must say it's more humourous than Full House and i like this better..
I esp like the scenes where Mong-ryong's father is chasing mong-ryong across god-knows-how-many streets.. at times i realli pity both actors.. i wonder how many times fo they NG.. hah
Furthermore there are scenes tt realli make u laugh ur heads off which IMO makes it more enjoyable than Full House.
n not forgetting tt i find Mong-ryong & Chun-hyang a better couple than Bi & SHG.. at least Mong-ryong is more shuai n cute!! =D & the couple have good chemistry and look great together!

overall the story is rather bland with several unbelivable plots and exaggerated scenes.. perhaps im well past the stage of fanasty and am rather cynical for stuffs that are not quite realistic.. and the pace is kind of slow.. almost give up half way through.. & somehow e female lead looks a tad too fake to me..
watch it if you like fairytale stories and do not mind the slow pace..

hmm right now i got 3 movies in my mind, Charlette's web, Death Note 2 n Fu Zi.. wonder if The Holidays and Shan Cheng are nice though..

Synopsis
From a woman's perspective - it's hard being a woman and it is even harder to feel the pain of men. From a man's perspective - what's so hard about being a woman and why can't people understand the pressures of men?! This series talks about different generations of men, who are facing different types of pressures. Hong Tin Yam is the head of the family who has many responsibilities at work and at home. Because of all the pressure, Tin Yam becomes a very selfish person. His son Sai Hei (Ron Ng) is an optimistic person, who cares less about anything until one day...

Tin Yam realizes he has some 'problems' in the bedroom. However, he does not let his wife Dak Kiu (Louisa So) know. His ego is so large that he does not go see a doctor, so he asks his friend Lily (Akina Hong) to 'test' his little theory. This was found out by Dak Kiu, but Tin Yam wanted his face, so he still does not let her know. This leads his wife to believe he was cheating on her. She almost immediately demands a divorce.

As for Sai Hei, he meets a young girl named Go Fun (Toby Leung). They fall for each other and spent the night together. To their horror, Go Fun finds herself pregnant with Sai Hei's child. Go Fun's family is furious when they find out. They blame Tin Yam for not teaching him 'properly'. However, soon, Go Fun's father learns to accept Sai Hei for they plan to get married. However, Go Fun is scared because she still has to go to school and care for the child inside her stomach. The girl stresses herself with homework and her baby.

One morning, seven months into the pregnancy, Tin Yam advises Go Fun to eat breakfast before she goes to school. She refuses, insisting that she was going to be late. Tin Yam does not let her go and grabs her arm to keep her from moving. After a bit of pushing and pulling, Sai Hei comes out of the room and Go Fun starts to have contractions! Soon, Go Fun is in the hospital giving to a premature baby. If that isn't enough, the whole entire family blames Tin Yam for the early birth. Tin Yam secretly buys custom-made diapers for the baby, prays at the temple, creates a name, disinfects the whole apartment, and buys a beautiful crib. However, he is crushed when he hears that his son and daughter-in-law are not coming home to the apartment, but are going to stay at Go Fun's.

Hong Tin Yam is now going through family problems, working situations, money problems, all types of troubles that can make men feel a lot of pain. How do the men handle these pressures? How do they fail? How did they succeed after failure? How do women understand the pain of men? Follow Damian Lau, Ron Ng, and Louisa So on a journey that will show you more than you have ever known about men in pain.

Review:

Personally I feel that it is only an average drama, so I cant understand why some hail it as one of the best TVB series of 2006..
if it is indeed intend as the female version of La Femme Desperado, then in terms of script the standard is way off..

Sure, it has touched on men's problem/situations such as men's physical problem, men's problem at work, men's pride, henpecked husband but i dun find it special since which person who is working or even schooling din experience any problems or hardships?
except for the issue of men's physical problem and father-son relationship, i find all other issues in this drama pretty normal which has been touched on.. unlike in La Femme Desperado where specific female issues are being brought up eg unmarried mum, jie-di lian & gender discrimination in workplace, it lacked e unique issues faced by men.. or perhaps bcos im a women so i dun get why e men are grumbling.. heh..

furthermore, the pace of the drama is rather slow so its not very exciting..

Nevertheless, i must say that the father and son relationship between Damian Lau and Ron Ng is good! there is hardly a drama which touch on father-son relationship at this level. I love the way they yell at each other, but nevertheless still love and support each other. & also the scenes between Ron Ng and Toby Leung.. like their bickering scenes and how they care for e baby..

In conclusion, i dont think it is a must watch.. However, for Ron Ng fans, u will like to watch it cos he's rather shuai in this drama.. =D

Weekend Special: Astro Pic Session 5

Hmmm, think it's time to go into the solar system since this is where we live..
Since everyone is alr familar with the planets...
Let's go into the moons of the planets!! =D

Ganymede: Largest moon in the solar system & of Jupiter
It is even bigger than Mercury..
If Ganymede orbited the Sun instead of Jupiter it could be classified as a planet!

Titan: 2nd largest moon in the solar system & Largest moon in Saturn.
IMHO, it is the most interesting moon in the solar system..
It is the only moon that has an atmosphere, which is more dense than those of Mercury, Earth, Mars and Pluto!!
However, due to e thick layers of clouds (believed to be hydrocarbons), the surface of Titan still remains a mystery..

Callisto: 3rd largest moon in the solar system & 2rd largest moon of Jupiter
It is about the same size as Mercury.
It is the most heavily cratered satellite in the solar system.

Io: 4th largest moon in the solar system & 3rd largest moon of Jupiter
It is one of the most exotic places in the solar system.
It is the most volcanic body known and its mountains are much taller than those on Earth reaching heights of 16 kilometers!! (Mount Everest is only close to 9km)
I regonise this moon by its numerous 'holes'.. lol..

Moon: 5th largest in the solar system.
hmm, nothing much to say about it.. im sure most of us have some knowledge abt it alr..
nevertheless one interesting fact: do you know that we are looking at the same side of the moon since eternity??
