rumblings abt exam...
overestimated my ability and underestimated e tiredness resulting from consective days of exams...
think no one so stupid as me to have 4 papers in 4 days ba ( 1 in each day)..
looks like im a partial naif.. lol..
anyway e papers are tough.. & in ascending order too!!! shitto! esp econo 2, n to think i spend more effort preparing it than OMG.. but both times i step out of e exam halls feeling im gonna get below avg grade for it... oh no!! cant afford tt alr... keeping my fingers crossed tt others also on e same boat as me...
having last paper nxt tues.. n im alr planning my post exams outing.. no cure liao.. =P

Bush came to NUS yesterday evening..
Actually feel like going for his talk but i wasnt invited n heard there is a long waiting list...
those who are invited are those who went for SEP.. rationale??
cos they are perceived to have a more global mindset..

anyway why I am interested in e talk is cos i thought there will be a Q&A session aft his speech and im really curious wat ques will NUS students ask him.. =D
aft e speech, SX n KKO recites their funny encounters during e long wait (they rot in UCC for 3 hrs for Bush's arrival).. then KL complaining that he look fat on TV while YY was 'caught' dozing off during Bush's speech..
wasted, din hav a chance to watch it..
wonder if there is a repeat telecast of the speech.. *wink*
went dinner wif W, M, N, V & YY last night...
realise this is my first 'outing' with other econs ppl..

GST hike?!?! (Cont)
somewhere i jus dun buy e gahmen's argument..
anyone who has taken intro econs will know tt GST is a regressive tax, that is, e poor will end up paying a higher proportion of taxes than the rich..
although e gahmen promised to offer relief packages to e poor, how long is it going to help to offset e hike?? at most 15-20 yrs??
BUT e GST is going to last a lifetime!!!!
Net effect = ??? (obvious ans rite??)
n i oso dun realli buy e argument abt e urgent need to decrease direct tax rate now...
read it somewhere tt direct tax rate will ONLY come into play when MNCs see tt both countries hav e same level of infra, labour force, political stability etc.. in other words, there are LOTS more factors tt affect e flow of FDI..
n they really know when to announce e hike...
they claim tt e economy is robust..
yeah right, forecasts have been rife abt predicting e cooling down of US economy nxt yr..
i seriously dun think spore will be immune to e slowdown lor..
one jus nid to think post 9-11..
n oso its onli barely 2 yrs since e last hike!!!
how come i neva see e CPF employers rate rising ah??! (it has been 3-4 yrs since e cut, i guess)
thought i rem reading at e Straits Times tt e long run rate of CPF will still remains at 36%..
if e economy is doing well now, can there be a restore in e rates??
esp since most companies are not heeding e govt advice to give back more to employees when e company is doing well..
most jus take e CPF rate cut for granted and treat it as an easy cost saving measure w/o working hard to cut cost..
be prepared to see lotsa reports why hike in GST is good, at least until next Feb...
though most economist will say tt tax are distortionary and results in welfare loss..

breaking record agn.. wat e record set this time? e time i left e sch for home.. haven been leaving school before sunset these few days n jus now its e ultimate for me.. still in school at 10.45pm, all thanks to OMG assgn.. OMG realli become OMG..
JN is saying tt i exclaim 'sian' to her twice within a few min earlier yesterday... come to think of it, it is an understatement.. (esp aft OMG assgn - one small part can take HOURS to think n phrasing e thoughts properly) it is at such times that i cant help but wonder why i choose to do honours..

ouch...
went for widsom tooth extraction yesterday..
never wan to go thro tt again =P
not only is it a BIG waste of $$$, it also caused a fair bit of discomfort..
for now, im stuck with a mouth with limited opening such tt i ate like a kid..
n it is only then i realise how reliant i am on straws and how ive been spoilt by all e fried n spicy good food..
but the thing which im most xin tong is e amt of $$$ spent.. (of all things, it is e lower tooth that has to be extracted!!) so im back to broke.. *sob*
swear that if i need to extract my wisdom tooth again, i'll wait till i got a job..
