having a bad sore throat today.. dunno why.. perhaps of the weather?? idiot..
to make things worse, i still nid to do more phone survey today.. cos e proportion of the applicants i first surveyed is rather skewed and not reflective of the true proportion.. luckily got e new intern, Joshua, to help me.. helpful guy.. anyway the longer i work with him, the more i unknowingly associate him with another guy.. Maybe its e the impression he give me ba, n some of his behaviour also..
Getting along better with e rest of e interns too, now more interaction between us.. for the past 3 wks, everyone seems to be busy with his/her own stuffs but after mon interns assembly line, there is now an unspoken mo qi among us, which is good cos my philosophy is the more friends the merrier =]
Anyway this week seems to be quite a happening week.. the Indonesia earthquake causing serious casualties came as a surprise to me.. cos i thought its the end of story aft Mt Merapi erupted but how wrong i am.. now there were talks about the earthquake tiggering another Mt Merapi eruption.. oh no.. i think tts e last thing Indonesians wan ba.. just when Aceh is still somewhat suffering from the aftermath of the unforgettable Tsunami, finally jus when Indonesia is having some peace and its economy is on the recovery.. wondering why Indonesia is rather 多灾多难。。
its nearest neighbour, East Timor is no better. its in a chaotic state now.. cant believe East Timor is a 6 yr old country liao.. time realli flies man.. but it seems like East Timor has not progressed much with e times.. from e TV, it seems like nothing has changed.. 老天爷似乎不特别眷顾这个国家。。 有时想想，我能生在国泰民安的新加坡， 真是我的福气。虽然家家有本难念的经，我常常有学业与人际关系的烦恼，但至少我不愁吃不愁穿，比起那些每天为了三餐温饱而疲于奔波的人强得多了。难道这是前辈子修来的福气？
最后是台湾总统的丑闻，看了媒体的报道后，我不知是否该说他们是罪有应得。滥用权力来索取大笔的不义之财可以说是知法犯法， 那为什么还明知山有虎偏向虎山行？我觉得是‘贪’字害得这第一家庭沦落到这个地步。我之前说过其实贪并不是坏事，但总该知道那些行动是可为或不可为吧。要知道纸是始终就包不住火的，何必早知如此何必当初呢？但其实人总是认为自己的运气挺好的，所以就开始人心不足蛇吞象。 等到已深陷入其中才发现自己已不能自拔。。
其实新加坡也不乏这些贪污案件， 但这件事毕竟涉及第一家庭与某些政府高官，才会引起这么大的反应吧。这官官相护的情形不禁让我想起了古代那些腐败贪污的官员。 中国历史的朝代的没落的幕后推手之一就是这些官员。难道他们没有从历史中吸取教训？经过这起风波， 民进党应该会花很长的时间与精力才能重新取得台湾民众的支持吧。正所谓创业难，守业更难，我个人认为台独主义应该会毁在陈总统的手上。
Singapore is truly blessed with a clean and efficient government. but will this continue in the future? we cant take this for granted.. cos u neva know.. people might change as time pass by, esp the temption to secure large amount of wealth may be too great to resist. someone may resort to using power to get wealth and vice versa.. not surprising as money and power are two things that human have been longing for since ages ago.. so i must say tt the govt has a challenging task ahead.. well, life is never easy anyway...
